MEXICO CITY: Coffee exports from Mexico rose 23.4 percent in December compared to the same month a year earlier, reaching 201,357 60-kg bags for the month, the country's national coffee association Amecafe said on Tuesday.
Amecafe said exports through the first three months of the current 2012-2013 harvesting season totaled 676,294 bags, up by nearly a third compared to the same three-month period during the previous 2011-2012 season.
The coffee season in Mexico and Central America, which together produce more than one-fifth of the world's arabica beans, runs from October through September.
