LONDON: European stock markets closed lower on Friday, the last session of August, with London's FTSE 100 sliding 1.08 percent to 6.412.93 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 1.12 percent to 8,103.15 points, the CAC 40 in Paris dropped 1.32 percent to 3,933.78 points and Milan lost 1.32 percent.
