KARACHI: The Minister for Interior, Ahsan Iqbal, here on Tuesday visited `Jamia Safia' being run under the auspices of the Bohra community.
He lauded the quality of education being imparted to the students of the institution.
The Minister was of the view that the students from the Bohra community were carrying forward the mission of Syedna Burhanuddin.
He opined that we Muslims are facing challenges because we are away from education whereas in the past the Muslims were ahead in almost every sphere whether health, education or science etc.
Ahsan Iqbal said that those from other religions who have now excelled in the realms of education are ahead of us.
He further stated that in Islam there is no room for education for extremism or narrow mindedness.
The Minister hoped that the youngsters from the Bohra community would prove to be asset for Pakistan.
On the occasion, the leaders of the Bohra community apprised the Minister of their problems.
Ahsan Iqbal assured that these problems would be resolved.
The Dean of the institution Shabbir Rasheed, Shaikh Tahir Najmi and Shaikh Kumail were also present on the occasion.
