Govt intends to fulfill human rights commitments under 27th Int'l Conventions: PM

(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the government intends to continue working to fulfill its commitments under the 27th International Conventions that includes six human rights conventions.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, the PM said that Pakistan's trade has benefited from European Union's GSP Plus agreement.

He added that such commitments are beneficial for the country. "We have enacted a law to ensure women's right to inheritance and are committed to enforce laws against child labour and in support of transgender," he maintained.

Imran pointed out that the government is also filling in legislative gaps including torture, protection of journalists and media professionals and other human rights commitments.

The prime minister highlighted that the European Union appreciated the government's Green initiatives, including Billion Tree Tsunami and Human Rights National Action Plan.
