LONDON: Northwest European gasoline refining margins fell on Tuesday amid as several new cargoes were booked out of the region to go to the United States.
At least two cargoes of gasoline and two cargoes of naphtha were booked over the past day out of northwest Europe and the Baltics on the transatlantic route, according to shipping data.
Congestion in the port of Amsterdam and in northern Germany was increasing, adding significantly to the waiting time compared to the last week, Lars van Wageningen of Dutch consultancy Insights Global said.
Last week, at least four tankers were booked to take gasoline from Europe to North America, shipping data showed.
So far in August, some 206,000 tonnes of gasoline and blending components have been delivered from Europe and the Mediterannean to North America, Refinitiv Eikon data showed.
July arrivals of European gasoline and gasoline components to the United States and Canada hit 1.91 million tonnes, the data showed, around 63% higher than June's levels.
