Nine Pakistanis missing after New Zealand terror attack: FO

The Foreign Office reported on Saturday that nine Pakistanis are missing since the terror attack in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

FO spokesperson took to his Twitter handle and revealed that nine Pakistanis are missing since the shootings on Friday, in two mosques of Christchurch. The spokesperson has listed the names of the missing Pakistanis along with some details.

The list of the missing persons includes the names of three persons missing from the same family. The family member's sons name is Zeeshan Raza who along with his father and mother are missing. Haroon Mahmood, Sohail Shahid, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Syed Jahanand Ali, Talha Naeem and Naeem Rashid are also missing.

The FO has added details of some of the missing persons including their date of birth and areas of residency.

6) Syed Areeb Ahmed, s/o Ayaz Ahmed, m/n Tanzeem Fatima, r/o Karachi, born 12-10-1992, age 26 yrs

"Our Mission in New Zealand is trying to ascertain further details," Faisal added. Earlier the spokesperson had revealed that Muhammad Amin Nasir, 68, from Hafizabad was injured and is in critical condition.

On Friday, 49 were killed when two mosques, Masjid al Noor in central Christchurch and the other one in suburban Linwood, packed with worshippers for Friday prayers came under attack. A 28-year-old Australian-born man, Brenton Tarrant, has been charged with murder.
