Pakistani Taliban chief Mulla Fazlullah has been killed in a drone missile attack in Afghanistan, Aaj News reported at midnight between Thursday and Friday. The US drone targeted a house in Marora area in Kunar district. As a result of the drone attack, Mulla Fazalullah, notorious chief of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed.
Quoting sources, Aaj News further reported that four other TTP commanders Umer, Imran, Abu Bakar and Sajjad were also killed in the strike. Fazlullah was son-in-law of Sufi Mohammad, the veteran cleric who had founded
"US forces conducted a counter-terrorism strike on June 13 in Kunar province, close to the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which targeted a senior leader of a designated terrorist organisation," a spokesman for US Forces-Afghanistan, Lt-Col Martin O'Donnell also told VOA Thursday.
