Representatives of civil society organizations and senior journalists have demanded effective local government (LG) system to address people's issues and stoppage of funds issued to MPAs and MNAs as their job is to only legislate. Khalid Chandio, President Hyderabad Press Club, was of the view that the current local government system is unable to deliver as the system is running without sufficient powers. It was the prime responsibility of local governments to deliver pubic service schemes but they have totally failed to do so, he maintained.
