Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Wednesday wrote a letter to chief election commissioner of Pakistan, seeking to change federal and provincial interior secretaries and to dismiss NADRA chairman Usman Mubin. According to details issued by party's central media department, the letter to chief election commissioner has been written by central secretary information Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry.
Fawad Chaudhry maintained in the letter that holding of fair and transparent election is the constitutional responsibility of the ECP. "PTI is the most popular party and is the cheerleader of nation's aspirations," he said, adding that effective measures and arrangements are indispensable to elect the true representatives of masses.
Chaudhry said along with other necessary measures, exoneration of ECP's election machinery is imperative. "PTI welcomes the transfers of chief secretaries and inspectors general of four provinces; however, these transfers aren't enough to guarantee fair election," he said. He urged the ECP to take action for immediate transfers of federal and provincial home secretaries and appoint officers of best repute, experience and professional expertise at the earnest.
In addition to that, Chaudhry also urged the ECP to take notice of leakage of sensitive information from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The Commission must investigate the role of son of Brigadier Siddique (close aide of former federal minister for interior) in this regard.
Chaudhry said the ECP should also take measures to remove the NADRA chairman. To unveil the critical nexus between the former government and heads of some government institutions is also the responsibility of the ECP, he added. "Without purging the administrative, judicial and institutional systems from the scum introduced by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), holding of fair and transparent election is not possible," he remarked.
