Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday announced countrywide protest demonstrations on Tuesday against the prolonged loadshedding and also urged caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk to immediately intervene and take steps to ensure interrupted power supply.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at Bani Gala residence of party chairman Imran Khan who directed the party's provincial and distract level leadership to hold demonstrations at union council levels against the continued prolonged load shedding in the country.
In a statement issued after the meeting, Khan urged the caretaker government to immediately intervene and take notice of the situation, adding that the non-availability of a basic facility such as electricity is unfortunate and should be condemned.
"Nawaz Sharif and his government lied with the people of Pakistan for the last five years and did not make serious efforts to deal with the energy crisis", Khan said, adding that the caretaker Prime Minister should intervene and undertake measures to improve the power situation across the country. "The nation must know the truth behind the shallow claims of PML-N government to overcome the energy crisis...the people must get to know as to who is responsible for the current power crisis", the PTI chief further said.
