A section of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) federal capital chapter on Sunday took control of the party's central secretariat against the alleged double standards of the local leadership in dealing with the workers. Led by a local leader Sajid Abbasi, the angry PML-N workers, while chanting slogans against Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Anjum Aqeel - the expected candidates of the PML-N from Islamabad - entered the party's central secretariat and took control of the building in protest.
"If they [Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Anjum Aqeel] did not change their attitude and double standards, we would stop their entry into Islamabad", Abbasi said while leading dozens of protesting PML-N workers. To defuse the situation, PML-N Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed reached the central secretariat and held dialogue with the protesting party workers.
The angry PML-N workers also expressed their reservations on the award of tickets to be given to the candidates especially Tariq Fazal Chaduhry and Anjum Aqeel in the federal capital. The protesters, however, winded up their protest after the meeting with Mushahid Hussain Sayed who assured them that he would convey their reservations to the central leadership. He also assured them all the candidates would appear before the parliamentary board today.
