Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman announced Sunday he would contest general elections 2018 from Karachi too. He expressed these views addressing the PTI supporters during his visits to different areas of Karachi in connection with the party membership campaign.
"Politics in Karachi revolves around conflicts. I will make Karachi city of lights, again," he said. Speaking at the Doctors' forum, Khan termed 2018 polls a decisive moment for Pakistan's future. He denounced provincial governments of Sindh and Punjab for being indulged in unabated corruption.
Khan accused Sindh government of virtually clipping all powers of Karachi Mayor. He linked restoration of peace in Karachi with reforms in the police department. "PTI will win 2018 elections and form government at the Centre," he asserted. Speaking to the PIA employees at the Karachi airport, Khan said incumbent federal government does not have mandate to privatize PIA and nowhere in the world such practices of selling out national institutions are adopted. He said that after coming to power PTI would make PIA a world class airline and entire country would take pride in it.
He said would-be PTI government would sort out water shortage in Karachi and also resolve the issue of tanker mafia. "Privatization is a process that is carried out through consultations. Unfortunately, Pakistan Steel Mill is suffering due to colossal while the mills of Sharif are earning billions, abroad," he lamented.
He said national institution are not for sale and PTI government at the KP province proved that by running affairs of Khyber Bank instead of selling it out. He stressed on need to end political interference to run the affairs of institutions with honesty for better results. He said the next government of the PTI would rid the country of corruption which is the basis of destruction of national institutions. He also planted a sapling outside the airport in connection with the 'Billion Tree Tsunami' campaign.
