Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Khawaja Imran Nazir, said on Saturday that they have sent a summery to the Punjab Chief Minister for the regularization of dengue workers which will soon be approved. The minister expressed these views while addressing the 27th CEO Conference held here on Saturday in which Secretary PSHD Ai Jan Khan, Special Secretary, Additional Secretaries, Director General Health Services, Project Directors and CEOs from 36 districts participated.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that more than 900,000 people were screened in second health week across the province which is more than their target. He also appreciated the performance of health officials during the health week.
He further said that the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Departments have ensured the provision of modern healthcare facilities in health centers. "For the first time in the history of Punjab, 21 BHUs of Lahore, Kasur, Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Lodhran and Pakpattan have qualified for obtaining Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) license, which is an important success," the minister said.
Khawaja further said that we have to be ready to control epidemic all the time. As the cases of measles and typhoid appeared in Sindh and KP provinces, the minister said that they should prepare themselves and take all necessary measures to controle and prevent the outbreak well in advance in Punjab.
He directed the CEOs to specially monitor chicken pox, measles and typhoid in their respective districts. Meanwhile, Director General of Health Services Dr Akhter Rasheed also briefed the participant on monitoring and evaluation of Health Facilities, while project directors briefed the CEOs on their projects.
