Prices of important kitchen items, except chicken meat, sugar, fruits and others have remained changed in retail market, according to survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. Price of live chicken has increased at Rs 183 per kg from Rs 177 per kg. Similarly, a dozen of farm egg is being sold at Rs 100 and Rs 90 against the price of Rs 110 per dozen in last week, the survey noticed.
The survey further witnessed sugar price has gone down in retail market, as available at Rs 50 per kg, which was selling at Rs 55 per kg in previous. Price of old sela rice is Rs 145 per kg, while new sela rice at Rs 125 per kg in retail market. Price of toota rice was remained unchanged as available at Rs 80 per kg.
A mix trend in prices of pulses was prevailed in retail market, the survey noted. Dhoti dal is being available at Rs 100 per kg, which was selling at Rs 120 per kg in previous week. Price of one-kilogram dal mash has increased at Rs 160 per kg, which was selling at Rs 140 per kg in previous week.
Similarly white lobiya also went up from Rs 120 to Rs 140 per kg. Dal green is being available at Rs 140 per kg, showing an increase of Rs 20 per kg in retail market. Price of moonge also went up at Rs 140 per kg, which was selling at Rs 120 per kg; dal masoor is being available at Rs 100 per kg.
Likewise, price of gram flour (baisen) has increased in retail market as being sold at Rs 140 per kg, which was selling at Rs 120 per kg during the previous week. Red bean is being available in different rates in retail market, as Rs 170, Rs 140 and Rs 120 per kg.
The survey witnessed that prices of all brand and quality of cooking oil/ghee were remained unchanged as available within range of Rs 120, Rs 160 and Rs 170 in retail market.
A one-kilogram tomato is being sold at Rs 30 per kg, which was selling at Rs 40 per kg, while price of onion was remained unchanged as available at Rs 40 per kg.
One-kilogram red-colour potatoes price has gone down to Rs 20, which was selling at Rs 30 per kg in previous week, while white-colour potato also reduced from Rs 20 per kg to Rs 15 per kg. No change was witnessed in price of ginger, as available at Rs 160 per kg, while garlic priced at Rs 100 and Rs 120 per kg. Similarly, lemon price was remained unchanged as being sold at Rs 120 per kg in retail market.
Brinjal is being sold at Rs 40 per kg in retail market, while carrot price had gone down at Rs 30 per kg against the price of Rs 40 per kg in previous week. No change was witnessed in price of cucumber as being sold at Rs 30 and Rs 40 per kg. The bundle of radish within range of Rs 120 and Rs 150 in wholesale, while in retail market, it is available at Rs 20 a single bunch. A considerable decrease in prices of peas was witnessed as available at Rs 30 per kg which was selling at Rs 80 per in retail market. Kadu prices remained stable at Rs 50-60 per kg in retail market. Kareela price remained stable as available at Rs 70 per kg against Rs 80 per kg. Similarly, a noticeable decrease in price of cauliflower was witnessed in retail market as available at Rs 20 per kg, which was selling at Rs 50 per kg in previous week and cabbage prices were found stable at Rs 40 per kg.
Capsicum price went further down from Rs 120 to Rs 80 per kg in retail market and okra price reduced as being sold at Rs 60 per kg against Rs 80 per kg.
During the visit in local market, it was noticed that butchers are defying the official rates, and selling cow meat at exorbitant rate in retail market, according to which cow beef is being available at Rs 300, Rs 320 and Rs 40 per kg. Mutton is being sold at R 700 and Rs 750 per kg in retail market.
Fruits have registered 'sky-high' in retail market. According to survey, apple is being sold at Rs 130 and Rs 150 per kg, big-size Orange at Rs 150 per dozen, while small-size orange at Rs 100 and Rs 80 per dozen, guava at Rs 80 per kg, banana at Rs 50 and Rs 80 per dozen.
The survey noticed that one litre fresh milk is being sold at Rs 100 and Rs 120 against the official fixed rate of Rs 80 per litre. Yogurt is being available at Rs 100 and Rs 110 per kg. Good quality black tea is being available at Rs 350 per kg and Rs 400 per kg, green tea at Rs 250 per kg, one kilogram pack of milk powder at Rs 700 in retail market.
