The city police have deployed over 1000 security personnel for the security of two-day Raiwind congregation. According to the security plan, over 1000 policemen including at least two Superintendents of Police (SPs), four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and nine Station House Officers (SHOs) have been deployed to ensure security of the people coming to attend this event, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Lahore Dr Haider Ashraf said.
He said the police officials would perform their duties day and night in two shifts. To ensure security, the DIG said every person will be allowed to attend the event after going through "strict biometric and physical checking." People without having original CNICs would not be allowed to enter the site, the DIG said, adding a Dolphin Squad and Police Response Unit (PRU) will ensure proper patrolling around the parking places of the congregational ground.
