FBR seeks income details of cricketers

The regional office of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sought income details of cricketers, said sources. They said the office has also sought income details of coaches and management staff of the cricket team. It may be noted that the FBR is in the process of broadening its base by bringing more sections of society into tax net.
The objective is to improve revenue generation and meet the fiscal targets announced in the budget documents. Accordingly, the tax officials are reaching out to various professionals, real estate and other untapped sectors, said the sources.
