Punjab Assembly in its 27th session on Tuesday unanimously passed an anti-blasphemy resolution, urging the authorities to act under 295-C legal enactment against all those involved in such heinous crimes. The house through the same resolution also demanded strict check on the social media. The session was presided over by Deputy Speaker Sher Ali Gorchani.
Another resolution adopted by the house is aimed at establishing industrial zones in the province for speedy development. Through yet another resolution, the assembly demanded that a bridge be constructed at River Jhelum's Chak Nizam. In response to a query, Parliamentary Secretary for Labour, Human Resource and Information, said that in all the institutions registered under social security, medical facilities were being provided to people who are 60 and above.
He said that there are four hospitals working under social security in Lahore. To another query, he said that Labour department has not established any school in Mianwali.
Two bills - `The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill 2017' and `The Punjab Child Marriage Restraints (Amendment) Bill 2017' - could not be tabled in the house as their movers were not present in the house. Later, the chair adjourned the session.
