The Karachi Port handled 265,864 tonnes of cargo comprising 211,083 tonnes of import cargo and 54,781 tonnes of export cargo including 6,212 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 211,083 tonnes comprised of 74,733 tonnes of containerised cargo; 24,732 tonnes of general cargo; 70,865 tonnes of bulk cargo: 61,260 tonnes of coal; 9,605 tonnes of sunflower seeds and 40,753 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 54,781 tonnes comprised of 47,371 tonnes of containerised cargo; 200 tonnes of general cargo and 7,200 tonnes of bulk cargo. As many as 6,212 containers comprising of 1,324 containers import and 4,888 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. The break-up of imported containers shows 558 of 20's and 380 of 40's loaded while 04 of 20's and 01 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 618 of 20's and 304 of 40's loaded containers while 2,004 of 20's and 829 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were thirteen ships namely Alexandria Bridge, OOCL California, Wan Hai-506, Sabya, Stolt Endurance, River Entity, Pacific Beryl, Seto Gloria, Positive Pioneer, Glovis Solomon, Shanghai Highway, Tan Binh-127 and Da Cai Yun carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicle and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were twelve vessels viz. Prosper, CMA CGM Eiffel, Hamburg Bay, ER Tian Ping, Pacific Beryl, Al Mahboobah, Pacific Award, Glovis Solomon, Shanghai Highway, Amber Alena, Da Cai Yun and Da Yu Xia carrying containers, oil tanker, chemical, coal, vehicle and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There is one ship namely Da Yu Xia carrying general cargo expected to sail on Tuesday. There were five vessels viz. X-Press Kailash, Wide India, YM Orchid, Roma and BBC Switzerland carrying containers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Monday while six vessels viz. Cosco Haifa, Northern Dependant, MSC Tasmania, Chemroad Fuji, Everrich-3 and Vela carrying containers, chemical and white sprite respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 66,973 tonnes comprising 46,263 tonnes of import cargo and 20,710 tonnes of export cargo including 2,164 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 46,263 tonnes includes 11,195 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,162 tonnes of chemical; 5,500 tonnes of slag and 20,406 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,710 tonnes includes 20,710 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,164 containers comprising of 1,074 containers import and 1,090 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday. There were three ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV X-Press Kailash and MT Ardmore Sealion carrying containers and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning. High side berth occupied was recorded at the Port Qasim on Sunday. As many as thirteen ships namely MV Spectrum-5, MV Mid Fortune, MT Gaslog Glasgo, MT Glorious, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Al Dasma, MT Bneider, MT Karachi, MT Torm Valborg, MT Harmony-1, MT Shalamar, MT Lahore and MT CH Zephyr carrying river sand, chemical, LNG, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Al-Gharo, CV Al Manama, MV Spectrum-3, MV Gaslog Glasgo and MT Glorious carrying containers, river sand, LNG and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Energy Terminal and FOTCO Oil respectively on Monday.
