BRUSSELS: Belgium sold 3.606 billion euros ($4.22 billion) of medium- and long-term debt at an auction on Monday, the country's debt agency said, with yields for the most commonly auctioned 10-year benchmark falling.
The 10-year bond maturing in June 2028, sold for a yield of 0.691 percent, down from the 0.732 percent during the last auction in June.
The sovereign's 50-year benchmark, maturing in 2066, sold for a yield of 1.896 percent, slightly above 1.874 percent at an auction in March.
Belgium has now raised some 85 percent of its 31 billion euros target for 2018. Because of the low-interest environment among European sovereign issuers, Belgium receives, rather than pays, interest on its borrowings of up to 5 years.
