SARGODHA: The illegal sale of petrol and decanting is going on unchecked across the city and the departments concerned has yet to check this practice.
The people said that a lot of shops of this kind were doing business illegally.
Talking to APP, a resident Rizwan said that it was becoming bad to worse day by day due to negligence by shopkeepers and the departments concerned.
The administration should take note of menace to stop this illegal practice from the city areas, he added.
He said that mostly shops had been operational in different areas including Tehsil Municipal administration (TMA), Cantonment Board, Bhalwal road, Khushab road, Patha mandi road Muslim bazar, 47 Pull, Kanchi mor, and Block 9, 10, 49 tail and all surrounding areas of the district and tehsil.
Another citizen Qasim Ali who lives adjacent to the market, said the practice of decanting was continued unchecked in the market and nobody was ready to take notice.
An official from district administration said that many a time action was taken against such persons but despite that they resume their illegal practices.
He said that efforts were being made to stop this illegal practice from the areas and a comprehensive campaign would soon be launched.
