Following the footsteps of his mother Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has submitted his first ever nomination papers for Larkana and Lyari.

Bilawal will be contesting in the upcoming elections from NA-200 Larkana and from NA-246 Lyari. His sister Asifa Bhutto was also present with him at the time of filing his nomination papers for Larkana on Monday, while he submitted the papers for Lyari on June 7.

The PPP chairman is the third generation in the Bhutto family to contest elections from both Larkana and Lyari. Before him, Benazir and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto also filed and won seats from both the districts, which have always remained party’s stronghold.

Bilawal took to Twitter to announce that he had filed his nomination papers and wrote, "[Have] come a long way and have a lot more to do. We need a stronger democracy, economic justice and vigorous foreign policy to build a peaceful, prosperous and progressive."

 

On the other hand, Bilawal has also filed nomination papers for National Assembly constituency NA-8, District Malakand. PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial president Mohammad Hamayun Khan and former Senator Farhatullah Babar had filed his nominations on behalf of Bilawal.

Former President Asif Zardari will be contesting from NA-213 Shaheed Benazirabad-I. His daughter Asifa has also obtained nomination papers for Sindh Assembly’s constituency PS-10 Rato Dero. His Sisters, Faryal Talpur and Azra Fazal Pechuho will stand for PS 10 Larkana I and PS-37 Shaheed Benazirabad-I respectively.

Former Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza will be contesting from  NA-243 Karachi. former Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be contesting from PS 26 Khairpur II. Meanwhile, Pakistani actor Sajid Hasan has also obtained a party ticket from PPP and will be running polls from NA-256.
