LAHORE: Hot and dry weather is expected in Punjab including provincial capital.

However, rain-thundershowers with gusty winds have been predicted at few places in Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal division, Kashmir and its adjoining areas.

According to Met. office, rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan, whereas a westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country.

The maximum temperature in provincial capital on Sunday was recorded 38 degree celsius.

The rainfall recorded in milimetre (mm) during the last 24 hours: Bahawalnagar 40, Toba Tek Singh 39, Jhang 35, Layyah 25, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan 12, Kasur 10, Rahim Yar Khan six, Rawalpindi, Lahore PBO, Faisalabad 3, Islamabad ZP 2, Kot Addu, Khanpur, Murree and Gujranwala 1.

Experts predicted that the current weather condition would persist with even more intensity during the next few days. People have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement in the sun, especially at noon and afternoons.

Farmers have been advised to take all measures to protect their standing crops and vegetables from damaging effects of high temperatures.
