BUCHAREST: Romania's current account recorded a surplus of 216 million euros ($266.13 million) in January, edging lower from a surplus of 258 million euros in the same month of last year, central bank data showed on Thursday.
Foreign direct investment stood at 310 million euros, and long-term external debt totalled 67.7 billion euros at the end of January, down 1.6 percent from December.
