LAHORE: The funeral prayers of five police officials, martyred in Raiwind blast was offered at the Police Lines, Qila Gujjar Singh, here on Thursday morning.
Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Amir Riaz, DG Rangers Lahore Major General Azhar Naveed Hayat, Inspector General Punjab Police Arif Nawaz Khan, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, CCPO Amin Wains and other\dignitaries attended the funeral prayers.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Muhammad Aslam, SI Manzoor Ahmad, Head-Constable (HC) Muhammad Saeed, HC Saeed and Constable Tanveer were martyred in the blast at Raiwind on Wednesday evening.
Later, the bodies of martyred policemen were sent to their native areas for burial.
It is pertinent to mention that at least five police personnel and four citizens were martyred on Wednesday evening in a suspected suicide attack in the Raiwind area on the outskirts of Lahore.
