Rangers official martyred, four others injured in Lyari grenade attack

A Rangers official was martyred and four others were injured on Tuesday night in Lyari in an encounter with the terrorists.
The Rangers were on routine patrol in Lyari's Ali Mohammad Mohalla when they were attacked by terrorists with hand grenades and automatic weapons. As a result, one official died while four others were injured due to the grenade attack.
In retaliatory fire, one of the terrorists was killed. Three homemade bombs, one hand grenade, one 9-mm pistol and magazines were recovered from the suspects. The injured Rangers personnel were shifted to Civil Hospital, Karachi, local media reported.
Later on, four more suspected terrorists were killed when the Rangers continued their search operation after the initial attack. The suspects opened fire at the Rangers and after an exchange of fire, the paramilitary force killed four more suspects. Four Kalashnikov rifles were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack on the Rangers and have directed the Sindh Inspector General of Police Allah Dino Khawaja to submit a detailed inquiry report.
