NEC approves enhancing sanctioning powers of AJK, GB and FATA’s development forums

MIRPUR: The National Economic Council (NEC) Wednesday approved enhancement of sanctioning powers of the development forums of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA, it was official declared by the AJK govt.
According to details, the sanctioning limit for Development Working Party (DWP) of the three regions has been increased to Rs 400 million while the Development Committees (DC) would be authorized to sanction the development expenditure up to Rs one billion, an official statement said.
AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan attended the meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) chaired by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
According to development experts, the development process would get more pace in AJK and the government would be in better position to approve mega projects in short time.
They gave credit to Raja Farooq Haider for resolving much waited financial issues with the federal government.
