FIRs registered for attacking Mepco team

KHANEWAL: Saddar police registered cases against 12 persons for allegedly attacking Mepco team, here on Saturday.

Police said that a Mepco team led by SDO Mepco Mehr Aslam raided at chak No 44/10-R to recover pending dues amounting to Rs 2.5 million from a tube well owner namely Allah Dittah Nasim. The team found out that he was also involved in power pilferage directly from Mepco transmission lines for his tube well.

The team tried to arrest him with the help of police but the accused along with 11 other accomplices resisted the arrest. However, police managed to arrest two outlaws, while the others managed to escape.

The police registered cases against 12 outlaws under section 149,148, 186 and 462L.
