LAHORE: CIA Lahore claimed to have arrested 29 members of five gangs involved in dacoity, motorcycle snatching and robbery incidents and recovered stolen property worth Rs8.2 million from them.
SP CIA Syed Nadeem Abbas said this while addressing a press conference at Investigation Headquarters Qila Gujjar Singh here on Friday.
Giving details, he said that the CIA Civil Lines smashed Arshad dacoit gang and arrested its five members including ring leader and recovered 17 motorcycles, Rs800,000 in cash besides illegal weapons.
CIA Civil Lines also arrest eight accused of Naveed Masih dacoit gang and recovered Rs2.3 million in cash, golden ornaments, motorcycle and illegal weapons from them, he added.
The SP said that the CIA Kahna police conducted a raid and arrested 16 members of three dacoit gangs and recovered Rs3.4 million in cash and three pump action.
The SP announced commendatory certificates for In-charge Civil Lines and In-charge Kahna over their good performance.
