No shortage of wheat stock in GB: Official

PESHAWAR: There is no shortage of wheat stock in the Gilgit Baltistan and sufficient stock is available to cater people’s requirement till upcoming wheat crushing season, an official said on Friday.

Deputy Director, Civil Supply, Gilgit Baltistan Ikramullah Baig told media persons that enough wheat stock was supplied to upper districts before start of snow fall and  rejected reports of shortage of wheat stock in upper areas.

He said wheat depots at various main points of all the districts were constructed and supply of wheat to it remained continue in winter.

Instructions to district officers were issued to closely monitor the situation and take action against hoarders and black marketers.
