PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Assembly has become exemplary legislative assembly with enactment of 153 laws since its formation in the wake of 2013 general elections, said Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar.
Talking to Australian High Commissioner Margret Adamson here at his assembly chamber on Wednesday, the speaker mentioned about the important piece of legislation the KP house made in last four and half years which included adoption of Ehtisab (Accountability) bill, Whistle blower Act, Right to Information bill, and Conflict of Interest bill etc.
The Assembly secretariat also arranged training workshops for capacity building of the young law makers and staff members of the assembly with the support of the European Union and British Council. The KP legislators conducted visits of the Scotland assembly.
Australian Commissioner on this occasion lauded the legislation made by the KP Assembly and training programmes it arranged for the capacity building of the lawmakers.
He agreed with the proposal of giving visit to the KP law makers and assembly staff of the Australia under the exchange programmes.
On this occasion the Australian High Commissioner was presented traditional shawl and souvenir of Assembly.
