ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday gave another week to Minister of State Talal Chaudhry to submit reply in the contempt of court case.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan heard the case.
During the course of proceedings, Advocate Kamran Murtaza - counsel for Talal Chaudhry - appeared before the bench and requested the court to extend the reply submission date for ten days as he was hired by his client after the death of his earlier counsel Asma Jehangir who died of heart attack all of sudden.
On this, Justice Maqbool Baqir asked the counsel to give a reasonable excuse for the extension.
Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan remarked that on the same stance he was given the time.
Kamran Murtaza said his client was contesting Senate election so he was unable to appear before March 3.
Later, the court granted one week to Talal Chaudhry and adjourned hearing of the case.
