BUCHAREST: Romania's European Commission Says will provide 1.3 billion euros ($1.61 billion) to upgrade parts of a train route that links Romania's western border with Hungary to its eastern border with Bulgaria.
Says EU will provide 65 percent of the Curtici-Constanta project's required funding.
Says works will focus on increasing speed and safety, as well as rehabilitating train stations and buildings required bridges and tunnels.
