Government urged to review agriculture policies

President Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) Sardar Zafar Hussein has said hike in prices of fertiliser and other agricultural inputs had badly affected yields of crops. Talking to a delegation of farmers on Monday he further said that the government had failed to give any relief to growers and now trying to hoodwink the people through publicity of artificial relief schemes.
He said that 70 percent people are associated with agriculture sector. Wrong policies of the government had resulted in hike of agricultural inputs. He said that the prices of daily essential items and utilities including gas, petrol, medicine, electricity and others had registered an increase of 300 percent during the tenure of the present rulers. While the earnings of the masses had not increased and about 20 million people in Punjab were earning Rs 6000 per month, which was not enough to even buy two times meal.
