LHC approached for banning Basant

A bar member Ghazi Illam Din on Monday approached the Lahore High Court for banning Basant festival this year. The petitioner contended that a number of innocent people had died due to kite string but government had failed in taking any action against those people who were responsible for killing innocent people.
He said the government banned the festival to avoid killing last year but this time round the government was likely to allow the people to celebrate festival. He therefore prayed to the court to advise the government to ban this festival.
