A shutter-down strike was observed in the city on Sunday on the appeal of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI). The strike call was given against the abduction of JUI provincial Salar, Haji Sadiq Noorzai. According to details all shops, business centres and markets remained closed in the capital city.
Two shopkeepers were also injured in a scuffle with the JUI workers who were forcibly closing the markets. A rally was also taken out by the JUI workers to condemn the kidnapping.
