The gas low pressure continued in several areas of Rawalpindi and even no relief could be provided to domestic gas consumers despite three CNG holidays.
The Sui Gas shortage is badly hitting the daily routine life in the city adding to the woes of the people as the domestic consumers faced low gas pressure during three CNG weekly holidays.
Since the start of this winter season, the gas consumers have been experiencing hours' long gas load shedding and if there is gas its pressure is so low that it cannot be used for cooking or heating purposes.
The citizens describe natural gas as the only affordable source of energy for them in view of unprecedented hike in prices of items to be used daily.
Residents of Saddar, Babar Colony, Dhoke Matkal, Chaklala, Scheme III, Peoples Colony, Tench Bhatta, Dhoke Seydian, Dhoke Chodarian, Committee Chowk, Dhoke Khaba, Umer Road, Dhoke Ealhi Bukush, Nadeem Colony, Arya Mohallah, Pirwadhai, Adiala Road, Bakra Mandi, Sadiqabad, Muslim Town, Dhamial, Qasim Market, Satellite Town, Chur, Allahabad, Chah Sultan, Asghar Mall and Pindora are continuously facing difficulties due to gas load shedding or low gas pressure.
Like this winter season, very low gas pressure was reported during last week in several areas of the city while during three CNG holidays (Thursday to Saturday); normal gas pressure could not be restored for the consumers particularly domestic users.
The citizens expressed their deep resentment over gas load shedding and low pressure problem and said they have applied every mean to draw the attention of the authorities concerned for getting the problem resolved but nothing was done to resolve the problem on concrete basis.
The citizens demanded of the authorities concerned for taking measures to ensure smooth gas supply to the citizens.
Aamir resident of Satellite Town area informed that the residents in his area are facing great hardships owing to gas outages and low pressure. He complained that gas pressure sharply dropped from 6am to 10pm.
It has been a regular feature since the advent of winter season. "Winter did not bring joy to us as we are unable to enjoy hot food due to frequent gas disappearances," said a housewife.
"I use LPG as an alternative but this is too much expensive and not affordable," she added.
Another housewife, Zeenat Begum from Peoples Colony, said she faced trouble while preparing food for her school-going children.
