A high powered Turkish business delegation from iron and steel sector will visit Pakistan in first or second week of March, Commercial Attaché Consulate General of Turkey Ms Fisun Aktug informed business community on Saturday. Speaking at a meeting of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), she said the purpose of visit of Pakistan to explore Pakistan iron and steel market and develop person to person contact to boost trade.
She said that the delegation comprises of large Turkish iron and steel sector will be meeting with their counterparts to ascertain demand and supply position of iron and steel. The delegation will hold meeting with KCCI members to get feedback about Pakistan's steel and iron market. She said that the iron and steel sector of Turkey is very vibrant and Turkish business persons are keen to explore their ties with their Pakistani counterparts.
She urged the Acting President KCCI Younus Muhammad Bashir to arrange B2B meetings with the Turkish delegation and disseminate their company's information to Chamber's members. Younus Bashir said Pakistan and Turkey are tied deep rooted, longstanding and time-tested friendship based on sharing common values mutual trust and co-operation. He stressed upon the need of enhancement in the Pakistan-Turkey bilateral trade in the potential sectors.
He highlighted that business prospects are available in Karachi as it is the largest metropolitan city of Pakistan interconnecting with other districts of Sindh and Balochistan province. He stated that tremendous trade opportunities between two countries do exist but the trade is not aligned with the potential.
