A group of PPP activists, Malakand Division comprising members of National Assembly and other office bearers have launched campaign for the replacement of PPP Provincial President, Senator Sardar Ali Khan. A meeting was held at the residence of former federal minister and member National Assembly from Malakand, Lal Mohammad Khan in this regard.
Talking to journalists, former federal minister, Lal Mohammad Khan MNA said that PPP was the party of poor workers and their opinions should be respected. He accused provincial president, PPP, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Senator Sardar Ali Khan for violating the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari in awarding party tickets for Senate polls.
He said that the provincial president despite the directives of President Zardari, who is also co-chairman of PPP, had ignored divisional president, Afsar-ul-Mulk in awarding ticket for Senate polls. He said that protest against the provincial president, Senator Sardar Ali Khan and Provincial Minister for Finance, Mohammad Hamayun Khan would continue and they would not rest unless provincial president is not replaced. He said that their decision of boycotting the PPP public meeting in Sakhakot was based on principles. The problems of party workers would increase further unless Senator Sardar Ali Khan was not removed from his post.
Lal Mohammad Khan was of the view that by not implementing the directives of President Zardari, the provincial president had attempted to create rift in PPP Malakand Division. He said that as PPP MNA, he said he had spent millions of rupees on the provision of Sui gas, construction of roads and rehabilitation schemes. He said that bringing improvement in people's lives and initiating practical steps for the development of people were top priorities of the PPP government.
Former Federal Minister Najmuddin Khan MNA, Malik Azmat Khan MNA, Allauddin MNA, Azam Afridi, Saleem-ur-Rehman, ex. MPA Saleem Iqbal, president, PPP, Malakand Division, Afsar-ul-Mulk and district senior vice president, PPP, district Malakand, Asad Lal Khan also attended the meeting.
