Wasa would spend around Rs 12.5 million on the removal of a pond established at Railway Land at Jamilabad and Punjab government would not make any request to the Federal Government in this regard. This step of Punjab government will ease the public from dengue virus as well as provision of healthy environment.
This decision was taken in a meeting of Emergency Response Committee
Gulberg Town held under the Chairmanship of MNA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, here on Sunday, which was attended by MPAs Mian Mohsin Latif and Nighat Sheikh, Member Chief Minister Inspection Team, Tahir Yousaf and concerned officers of various departments. The committee ordered to ensure immediate supply of medicine to UCH Hospital and other hospitals working in Gulberg Town so that dengue patients could get medical facilities in time. The committee was informed that the final lists made by Umer Suhail Zia Butt, MNA, Ramzan Sadiq Bhatti, MPA and Dr. Saeed Elahi for the distribution of free dengue kits among the poor and deserving people have been sent to MNA Mr. Marghoob Ahmad for approval.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that entomologist would ensure regular visit of the town regarding searching of affected areas of dengue mosquitoes and their breeding including eggs, larva and pupa and they will also show them to the general public on the spot so that they could make quick decision to dispose of accumulated water and town committee would also ensure proper cleanliness and fogging at the affected areas.
Later, teams headed by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq visited door to door in various areas of Ichra and distributed brochures about dengue virus and its precautionary measures among the people. They appealed the public to keep their areas clean and strengthen and government steps for the eradication of dengue virus. They educated the people to take immediate steps for not accumulating water being leaked from air conditioners and desert coolers, etc. MNA Umer Suhail Zia Butt also distributed hand bills and brochures among the public during dengue awareness campaign started in UC-103.
