Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that it did not matter if someone including Shahbaz Sharif accepted Asif Ali Zardari as President or not. Talking to a private news channel, she said Chief Minister of Punjab and his party fully opposed Asif Ali Zardari during presidential election but he had succeeded with a big margin.
Replying to a question, the Minister said that whenever in the past, the Chief Minister of Punjab demanded the helicopter, the Federal Government provided him with it still he kept on criticising the top leadership in his speeches. But this time, the four helicopters which were under the use of the Prime Minister and Federal Cabinet are grounded due to technical maintenance, she added.
Dr. Firdous said that making it a political issue is a conspiracy to hamper the political consensus of All Parties Conference (APC). She said it is most essential for any politician to focus on ground realities, instead of just airing his views on certain issues.
