City District Government Karachi has launched anti encroachments drive to recover all grabbed land from the possession of land mafia. The anti encroachments squad has so far recovered 4,292 acres of land costing Rs 29billion and 124 persons have been taken into custody during the operation.
This was stated by Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed while addressing a press conference in Civic Center on Saturday. District Co-ordination Officer Karachi Roshan Ali Shaikh, EDO Revenue Ganhor Leghari, Addl. EDO Revenue Matanat Ali Khan, In-charge Anti Encroachments Cell Irfan Bahadur and other officers of land, estate and revenue department were present on this occasion. Administrator Mohammad Hussain Syed reiterated city government's resolve to get all grabbed land in the city vacated through an impartial operation.
He said the operation against land grabbers will continue till the end of all encroachments. Record of all grabbed land has already been compiled by city government and now gradual action will be taken to get this land vacated from the possession of land grabbers. The recovered government land will then be used for public welfare projects while the grabbed land of people will be returned to them. Administrator Karachi said besides using anti encroachments squad in the operation, help and co-operation of police, Rangers and FC will also be sought if and when required.
