Bullish sentiment dominates LSE

Bullish sentiment dominated the Lahore Stock Exchange on Friday and equities registered gains across the board amid ascending transaction volume on account of fresh buying in blue chips of oil, fertiliser, banking sectors. The LSE-25 index gained 61.29 points and ended at 3080.05 points against 3018.76 points of Thursday, while turnover increased to 2.668 million shares as compared to 2.328 million shares.
The market opened on a healthy sign and stayed in green zone almost throughout the day. PSO, OGDC, Attock Refinery, PPL, Engro Corp, Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim, Fatima Fertiliser, Arif Habib Corp, Nishat Chunian, Pakistan Reinsurance, National Bank, Bank of Punjab, NIB Bank and Fauji Cement helped the market stay in positive zone.
However, Southern Electric, Javed Omer Vohra, Pakistan Oilfields, Tariq Glass and Ravi Textiles registered marginal declines. Gainers were considerably more than losers, as of 113 active issues, 40 companies posted gains and 6 stayed in negative column, while values of 67 companies remained unchanged.
PSO gained Rs 7.57, Engro Corp appreciated by Rs 2.54, Dawood Hercules improved by Rs 2.07, OGDC was by Rs 1.80 and Attock Refinery gained Rs 1.55. Tariq Glass declined by 45 paisa, Southern Electric lost 13 paisa and Javed Omer Vohra was down by 5 paisa. Arif Habib Corporation was the market leader whose 303,974 shares changed hands, followed by Fatima Fertiliser with 275,810 shares.
