QAU students raise Rs 0.8 million for flood victims

Students of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) have collected Rs 0.8 million in one week to assist the flood-affected people of Sindh. The drive to collect Rs 1.2 million for flood-hit people was launched by Quaid-e-Azam University Welfare Society, which received a positive response from students and faculty members of the university.
Co-ordinator QAU Welfare Society Dr Muhammad Idress told Business Recorder that the university management would provide transport facilities to volunteers of the Welfare Society to reach the flood-hit areas of Sindh where they would distribute food, clothes and other necessities among flood victims. He added that the QAU Welfare Society has planned to launch Scholarships for the flood-hit students within the next few months, while 25 scholarships have already been given to the students of the university who belong to the flood-affected areas.
