Commodities' prices fluctuated both ways determined by supply/demand factor, global trend

Imported gram, dal, masoor, dal, yellow peas, broken basmati, plastic mouldings rose, wheat shed earlier but gained later, basmati down while broken basmati rose during the week ended on September 24, 2011, following generally world trend.
Commodities on the opening day depicted firmer trend such as gram Australia No 1 rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5200 and Rs 5400. Gram Australia dal No. 1 gained Rs 300 to Rs 6400 and Rs 6600. Gram Australia II also rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5100 and Rs 5300, gram dal Australia II rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6100, while better type rose by Rs 300 to Rs 6300, yellow peas Canada rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4100 and the better type was quoted at Rs 4350, and yellow peas dal Canada low type rose by Rs 125 to Rs 4625, while better type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 4800. Wheat old and new bardana lost marginally by Rs 5 to Rs 2585 and Rs 2600. Irri-9 Sindh low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5200, while better type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5400, Irri-6 Sindh old shed Rs 50 to Rs 3650 and better type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 3700, Basmati No. 386 low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 6100, while better quality rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6300, and super basmati Sindh low type turned higher by Rs 300 to Rs 6800, while better type rose by Rs 400 to Rs 7000, broken basmati rice low type gained Rs 200 to Rs 4500, while better type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 5500. Castorseed Nawabshah rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2500 and Rs 2525 castorseeds Mirpur rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2500 and Rs 2525, castorseeds Dadu quoted at Rs 2150 and Rs 2200, rapeseed cakes low type was quoted at Rs 910 and better type at Rs 915, and cottonseed cakes in Sindh with bag quoted at Rs 1300 and Rs 1350.
On Tuesday masoor Canada rose by Rs 600 to Rs 6000, Urad Burma rose by Rs 300 to Rs 3200, Irri-6 Sindh old quoted at Rs 3750 and new type registered at Rs 3650.
On Wednesday dipped wheat old and new bardan both quoted higher at Rs 2685 and Rs 2500 and Rs 2600 and Rs 2605, gur low type lost Rs 100 to Rs 6900, while better type shed Rs 300 to Rs 8200 and Khandsari shed Rs 300 to Rs 8200. Irri-6 Sindh old quoted lower at Rs 3700 and Rs 3725 and new type seen at Rs 3600 and Rs 3650, cottonseed oilcake with bag in Sindh low type was down Rs 100 to Rs 1200 and the other type conceded Rs 50 to Rs 1300.
On Jodia Bazaar plastic mouldings (per lb) TR144 rose by Rs 75 to Rs 78.25, HDPE injection Sabic 20056, quoted at Rs 81, Mobil 016 lost Rs 5 to Rs 76, Iran lost Rs 2 to Rs 75, HDPE low Marlex Singapore ended by 50-paisa to Rs 76, Iran gained 75-paisa to Rs 74.75, LDPE 374 shed Rs 4.50 to Rs 85.50, LLDPE W118 lost 75-paisa to Rs 75.25, polypropylene tape grade India ended shed 75-paisa to Rs 82.25, Kuwait lost 75-paisa to Rs 82.75 and Saudia shed 75-paisa to Rs 82.25.
On Thursday moong Punjab rose by Rs 500 to Rs 6500 rapeseed Mirpur and Nawabshah rose by Rs 75 to Rs 2575 and Rs 2600.
On JB Dispers dyes China (per lb) yellow G up Rs 60 to Rs 240, Dispers dyes black BB up Rs 25 to Rs 250, helicopter rose by Rs 20 to Rs 250, yellow up Rs 415 to Rs 285, blue BNG up Rs 20 to Rs 300. On Friday not a single change was seen on the wholesale grain and seed market as almost all participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Saturday most of the changes were seen in the grams prices. Grams Australia No. 1 low type was lower by Rs 200 to Rs 5000-5200, grams Australia dal No.1 low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 6300 and good quality, however, shed the same amount to Rs 6500, grams Australia dal No. 2 lost Rs 400 to Rs 6000-6200, grams 50x50 was sharply higher by Rs 400 to Rs 5500-5700, yellow peas Canada low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 4100, while the better type did not show any change at Rs 4300, yellow peas Ukraine low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4000 and best quality gained to Rs 4200, yellow peas dal Ukraine was up by Rs 100 to Rs 4500-4700. On the cereal side moong Punjab was higher by Rs 500 to Rs 6500, masoor Canada was quoted at Rs 5500 and masoor dal Canada was registered at Rs 6500-7000, wheat old and new Bardana rose by Rs 5 to Rs 2500-2590 and 2605-2610, respectively. A solo deal was witnessed on the seed side, cottonseed oilcake with bag low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 1100, while the best type did not show any change at Rs 1300, other items did not show any change in process of trading. Prices were unchanged on the rice sector.
On Jodia Bazaar chemical items closed mixed. The variations were: CHEMICAL ITEMS (Per kg): Caustic soda flakes Saudi edged down by Rs 5 to Rs 70, sodium sulphate went higher by Re 1 to Rs 17, N J Taiwan moved downward by Rs 5 to Rs 230, oxalic acid China moved upward by Rs 17 to Rs 110 and citric acid China finished lower by Rs 4 to Rs 118. PETROLEUM JELLY: P V A Japan was quoted at Rs 245 and Sitara caustic soda flakes was quoted at Rs 64.
