A woman died from dengue fever, rising total number of dengue deaths to five in the city. Besides, some 21 patients were tested positive on Saturday. The Sindh dengue surveillance cell official told Business Recorder that the 34-year old housewife, a resident of Dastgir area of Quaidabad, was admitted in OMI hospital where she was confirmed dengue virus positive.
She was suffering from high fever and died on Saturday. Four other people have also died due to the viral fever in Karachi. Experts believed that the number could be higher than reported by Dengue Surveillance Cell as many patients did not report to hospitals. A sudden increase in dengue cases was witnessed in the city on Friday when some 21 patients tested positive for dengue.
