Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 30,317 tonnes of cargo including 13,969 tonnes of import cargo and 16,348 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 13,969 tonnes comprised of 8,137 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,806 tonne of general cargo; 3,532 tonnes of bulk cargo: 301 tonnes of wheat; 680 tonnes of soyabeen seeds; 547 tonnes of fertiliser; 2,004 tonnes of rock phosphate and 494 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 16,348 tonnes comprised of 6,514 tonnes of containerised cargo; 60 tonnes of general cargo; 1,474 tonnes of bulk cargo: 804 tonnes of cement; 670 tonnes of fertiliser and 8,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Peace Fortune, Shaker-1, Caribbean Sea and Royal Crystal with two general cargo ships, container ship and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Hadis, Rio Grande Express, Caribbean Sea, Emirates Kabir, Sima North, Peace Fortune and Chemroad Sun carrying four container ships, two general cargo ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely HS Challenger and Lady Hind carrying container ship and DAP carrier respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while four ships namely Emirates Kabir, Teera Bhum, Chemroute Sun and OOCL Dalian carrying three container ships and ethanol carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Three vessels viz Blossom, Songa Hawk and SCF Pioneer carrying ethanol ship, styrene carrier and mogas ship respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while eight vessels viz Northern Valence, Armis, MOL Success, APL Ruby, Bunga Raya Empat, Alamayn, BBC Colorado and MT Karachi carrying five container ships, mogas ship, project cargo ship and crude oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 16,130 tonnes, comprising 12,693 tonnes of import cargo and 3,437 tonnes of export cargo was handled at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo includes 12,693 tonnes of diesel oil. The total export cargo includes 3,437 tonnes of cement.
A total number of three vessels viz MV Orient-III, MV Vinaline Sky and MT Analipsi Lady are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Three ships namely Christopigi Lady, Al-Soor-II and Serengett carrying three diesel oil tankers are currently at the outer anchorage. A container ship namely CV CMA CGM Puget is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Saturday.
