President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday strongly condemned the blast outside the residence of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chaudhry Aslam in Karachi that killed eight peeople and injured many other. The President expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the blast and termed it a very sad incident in which security officials and innocent people lost their lives.
The President said such cowardly acts of the extremist elements could not deter the determination of the government against the militancy and terrorism. He directed the provincial government to undertake comprehensive enquiry into the incident and take more stringent measures to improve security.
In his message to the families of those who had lost their loved ones, the President prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the families to bear this loss with equanimity. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has strongly condemned the suicide attack on the house of SSP, CID in Karachi, resulting in the loss of precious lives and injuries to several others.
