Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, said that construction of Bhasha Dam will be started very soon as Rs 42 billion compensation has been paid to the affected persons and land has been acquired.
While addressing the Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) second day concluding ceremony here on Saturday at Lahore Expo Centre he announced that President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari would inaugurate Bhasha Dam work soon.
He further said that government has added 3,000MW electricity in the National Grid during the last three years and intended to add 10,000-15,000MW electricity in the National Grid but it is time taking project and people must wait for the favourable consequences in this regard.
He said nation should show unity and must help the flood-affected people of Sindh as more than 10 districts have completely been drowned in the flood. Crops and houses have completely been devastated by the malevolent flood. He appreciated the contribution of Pakistan Poultry Association towards strengthening the economy of the country by investing more than Rs 300 billion in the poultry sector and providing employment to more than 0.5 million people across the country.
He further said that Poultry Industry has brought revolutionary changes in the life of the common men. It has uplift the financial status of the farmers by providing better price of agricultural land and reasonable rates of the crops specially corn, wheat which is used in the poultry feed.
He said the solution of the all problems of Pakistan lies in strengthening democratic process in the country because only the elected government could provide relief to the masses. He annunciates that present government is fully aware of the problems of the people as well as the challenges faced by the Poultry Industry and determined to solve it.
He said that government had not imposed GST on the Poultry Industry in spite of financial restrains in the last budget. Khalil Sattar, a senior member announced on behalf of Pakistan Poultry Association, to give 07 million rupees for the flood-affected people of Sindh. He said that after the co-ordination with all member of the Poultry Association cash would be deposited in the account of Prime Minister Flood Relief Fund.
