Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Saturday that the creation of Hazara province is the basic right of the local people, and added that the provincial government would never oppose the idea, but the direction has been defined for availing the right through constitutional means.
Addressing members of All Traders Federation (ATF), lawyers and journalists during his day-long visit to Abbottabad at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, he called for removal of internal differences and misunderstanding by adopting national ideology and approaches to strengthen the country. "We should respect each other's ideas," he added.
KP Minister for Industries Ahmad Hussain Shah, elected representatives from the area including Inayat Iqbal Khan Jadoon, Shamoon Yar Abbasi, Mohammad Javed Abbasi, Aurangzeb Nalota, and Qalandar Lodhi were also present on the occasion. Besides, Hazara Commissioner Mohammad Khalid Umarzai, DIGP Dr Mohammad Naeem, DCO Zaheer ul Islam, Additional Commissioner Abdul Ghafoor Baig, and other high officials were also present.
He also held separate meetings with members of High Court Bar Association (HCBA), and District Bar Association (DBA) Abbottabad. The Chief Minister administered oath to the newly elected members of High Court Bar Association, Abbottabad.
.He said that the establishment of independent judiciary and democracy had been made possible due to prolonged lawyer movement in the country. He said that people could resist starvation and hunger, but never accept injustice. "We should be proud of Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry for keeping high supremacy of judiciary under his kind supervision," he added.
Regarding creation of Hazara province, he said: "We don't want to raise differences which developed after the renaming of the province as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa." He said that he came here to remove all differences, misunderstandings, and gaps, adding that the Hazara people had greatly manifested in a better way during the visit to Abbottabad.
He said the presence of lawyers, businessmen and journalists was commendable. He said: "Our utmost aim is to remove all kinds of differences and join hands for peace and prosperity of the province." Hoti said that the government had realised the sentiments and feelings of the Hazara people, which were respected, adding that "we are trying our level best to continue past cordially relations with district Hazara".
Referring to the ongoing militancy and insurgency, he said that whatever the achievements had been gained in war against terrorism in which people of the province are equally contribution for this cause, saying that the government has not taken credit in this regard.
He said that terrorists faced defeat due to logical dexterity of the people, and supported the anti-terrorism efforts carried out by the government in the province. He lauded the role of lawyers, traders, media and district administration along with people of different walk of life for maintaining environment of peace and brotherhood in the region.
Hoti expressed Highlighting the role of media, he said that the media had played vital role in establishment of peace and creation of awareness among masses put them on right direction. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has continued coalition in the province, and running affairs very smoothly, he said.
