KARACHI: BRINDEX-30 closed on the upper side on Wednesday at 22,478.43 points with a positive change of 121.43 and volume of 166,876,300 shares. High and Low were 22,614.43 and 22,292.15 respectively. Of 30 companies traded, 15 were up, 15 were down and 0 was unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 233,607,590 shares. Total companies traded were 372 of which 167 were positive, 185 were negative and 20 were unchanged.

Power Generation and Distribution was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 50,409,500 shares. It was followed by Technology and Communication with a total traded volume of 25,336,000 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Limited with a volume of 47,374,000 and price per share of 6.75 (0.26), Bank of Punjab Ltd with a volume of 13,395,000 and price per share of 8.89 (0.30), TRG Pakistan Limited with a volume of 11,266,500 and price per share of 28.98 (-0.72).

The top three advancers were Wyeth Pakistan Limited with a volume of 640 and price per share of 1,376.17 (65.53), Sanofi-Aventis Pakistan Limited with a volume of 500 and price per share of 1,359 (61.33), Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited with a volume of 1,160 and price per share of 2,130 (22.42).

The top three decliners were Nestle Pakistan Limited with a volume of 120 and price per share of 10,926.11 (-573.89), Philip Morris (Pakistan) Limited with a volume of 200 and price per share of 3,040 (-160.00), ICI Pakistan Limited with a volume of 9,150 and price per share of 768.45 (-21.83).
